NEW - Support Your Community Together!
At no extra cost to you - our gift to your community

Sign Up and Nominate an Underprivileged School Today!

When you sign your school up for a program or workshop, nominate an underfunded school serving an underprivileged community in your area to participate with you. Together, we can make a real difference! My goal is to transform lives - those of all teachers, students, and school managers. School staff and learners in underprivileged communities need transformation more than most, and I'm dedicated to empowering their teachers and providing children in need with a healthy and positive foundation from which to grow.

Teacher Coaching Program

I offer a 10-workshop teacher-coaching program to schools and individual teachers over one school year.  Each month I present an interactive 1-hour Zoom workshop where teachers assess different aspects of themselves and set personal goals to achieve in the following month.

GLOBAL PROGRAM:

In the Global Program, teachers and managers from different schools and countries participate in workshops together as a global group of educators.  They meet and participate in group and pair work activities, learning about the challenges other teachers face, and sharing solutions that have been successful in other classrooms and schools.  This program is both for schools and individual teachers.

ELITE PROGRAM:

In the Elite Program for schools, teachers and managers attend workshops with the faculty of one school only.  These workshops are more personalized and also assist with promoting teamwork.  Staff learn to support each other and hold each other accountable using the positive techniques they learn.

INDIVIDUAL WORKSHOPS:

Individual Workshops are the best option if you don't want to commit to the full program, or if you want to get a feel for what we do before making a final decision.

UNDERPRIVILEGED COMMUNITIES:

For underfunded schools operating in underprivileged communities, we offer free workshops.  We believe it is the right of every student to have empowered teachers and we are committed to making this a reality.

IN-HOUSE TRAINING:

On completion of the 10-month program, managers can then present the same workshops to others.  In this way, you can continue to empower new teachers in-house as they join your faculty.

STUDENT WORKBOOKS:

After each workshop, teachers receive practical teaching aid material related to that day's workshop to use in their classes with their students.  Student workbooks, an educational games and activities manual, student personality quizzes, and more.  In this way, teachers incorporate the same techniques they have learned and benefitted from with their students, empowering them and providing them with invaluable life skills.

Happy teachers mean happy students, learning in a happy and productive environment.  It means happy parents, and schools that thrive as their students excel, both as learners and unique individuals.

I'm excited to work together to empower our teachers and students!

10-Month Program

Teachers (and students) are more stressed and overwhelmed than ever before as pressures in the school environment continue to mount.  Social media has made teaching easier in many regards, but also presented many new and unexpected challenges.   Covid too, has had an extremely challenging impact on many teachers.  It's not enough these days that teachers are trained in all things academic - there is a desperate need for emotional development and support too - to help teachers to cope with their own career and life challenges and stresses, but also to empower them to help and support their students emotionally too.

Each month we focus on a different area of development, using proven techniques and questioning strategies to promote introspection and professional and personal growth.  Our 1-hour workshops are interactive, even as they are highly personal to the individual teacher and manager.

In every workshop, participants access and assess these aspects of themselves, and set relevant goals to achieve in the month ahead.

Monthly Workshop Topics

  1. Developing your Best Teacher Self - understanding how your students perceive you, and becoming aware of the impact you have on them, you learn to be a more purposeful and empathetic teacher.  As you recognize and develop your Best Teacher Self, you are able to more consciously be the teacher that each student needs you to be for their individual growth and development, both academically and individually.

  2. Teacher, Know Thyself! - as teachers, we put so much time and effort into understanding, supporting and evaluating our students, but how much focus do we give to understanding, supporting, and evaluating ourselves as teachers?  Through a series of thought-provoking questions, you are guided to recognize different aspects of your teacher self, gaining deeper insight into your role and purpose.

  3. Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs in the Classroom - Understanding your students' needs across the 5 levels of Maslow's pyramid, as well as your own as a teacher, you are better able to create a positive, productive, healthy, and happy environment where everyone's needs are met, and effective teaching and learning can take place.

  4. Effective Goal Setting - achieving the outcomes you want and deserve - all teachers know there are never enough hours in a day!  There are so many things you have to do, want to do, and feel you should do, that often we don't get around to everything, or don't have the required time or energy to dedicate to each.  Learning easy techniques to prioritize, set, and manage goals, and learning how to hold yourself accountable, it becomes much easier to meet and achieve your goals successfully.

  5. Multiple Intelligences in the Classroom - accommodating all students - students are not all academic.  We know this, yet we are called upon to judge them all according to academic criteria.  We might not be able to improve the system overnight, but we can incorporate our students' different intelligences into the learning process, helping them to process, grasp, and implement new concepts and strategies, motivating better academic and personal development and results.  Understanding the 8 intelligences you are able to empower each of your students in the way that best suits their needs, abilities, and personalities.

  6. Achieving a State of Balance - realistically, how balanced is your life?  Even in your personal life, does your teacher-brain ever really switch off?  Being a teacher can be all-consuming.  It can also be really stressful (as every teacher who ever lived agrees).  Creating a sense of balance and purpose within all areas of your life, you become a happier, more productive individual and teacher, and incorporating successful techniques to manage stress, improves your overall wellbeing and mental health.

  7. Making Learning Fun - who said learning can't be fun?  Numerous studies have found that incorporating educational games and activities in the classroom motivate active learning, keener student participation and engagement, and also promote a positive overall attitude to school and learning.  In this workshop you will learn how to incorporate educational games and activities alongside more conventional styles of teaching to enhance student learning in every subject.

  8. Kindness in the Classroom - developing emotional intelligence - kindness changes lives and is a superpower that every teacher should incorporate in the classroom.   Kindness, empathy, and compassion help to create a safe and unified classroom environment which helps students to achieve a sense of belonging and increases their confidence and self-esteem.  We look at how teachers can develop and enhance their own sense of empathy, and also how to promote and develop empathy and emotional intelligence in their students.

  9. Embracing Change in the Classroom - many people are resistant to change, yet change is one thing we can all be certain of.  Classrooms are no different.  Embracing change in the classroom can be intimidating, but it also offers opportunities for personal and professional growth.  During this workshop, teachers look at areas where they are stuck or resistant to change and create a plan of action to implement positive change in their lives and classrooms.

  10. Setting Healthy Boundaries - it's essential that teachers are able to set healthy boundaries by implementing effective and non-invasive classroom management techniques.  Creating a balance between being strict and maintaining control, and being engaging and approachable can be challenging, especially for new teachers.  In this workshop we brainstorm new management techniques and share those that have proven successful in the past.

A BIT ABOUT ME:

Starting as an English teacher in China over a decade ago, I found my first passion in the education industry - teaching.  Later as a manager, administrator, and regional and national director, I discovered my second passion - training and supporting teachers.

Dedicated to making a positive difference in my world, teaching allowed me to do that.  But I soon realized that by working with teachers, I could indirectly impact even more students, as well as their teachers.

I founded a TEFL teacher training company, TEFL Portal, designed and wrote the course material, and offer in-person theoretical and practical training to groups on Zoom.

As a life coach, I specialize in empowering teachers and created a transformational coaching program for educators and schools.
